School Horses

Made in Canada (Stratus)

Stratus is a Welsh Cob/Thoroughbred cross gelding who stands 16.3hh. He is Lene's own personal horse, and is used in lessons with the more advanced students. Stratus has shown at local schooling shows and fall fairs, as well as on the North East Trillium Circuit in 2010.


 Knickers (Nick)

Nick is a Haflinger gelding who stands 14.3hh. He is used for beginner to advanced lessons, as well as the summer camp. Nick is also used for driving lessons. He has shown at local schooling shows and fall fairs.


Ardmore Pirate (Pie)

Pie is a Welsh Pony who stands 13.2hh. He is our oldest pony on the farm at the age of 21. He has been used in beginner to advanced lessons as well as the summer camp. Pie has shown in local schooling shows and fall fairs.


Smart Trick (Junior)

Junior is a Welsh Pony who stands 12.2hh. He is used in beginner to advanced lessons as well as the summer camp. Junior is also trained to drive, and has shown at local fall fairs.


Other Critters

Fiona

Also known as "Fi-Fi", Fiona arrived at High Hurdles in April 2013. At only 4 years of age, this young Donkey was purchased to help keep the predators away. She will also be used for grooming in the Summer Riding Camp.


Ubu

Ubu is the camp greeter. She team-works with Bibs on keeping the rodent population under control.

Bibs

Picture
Bibs was the number one mouser at High Hurdles. Sadly Bibs passed away this winter after serving many years as a barn cat. She will be greatly missed!

Past Horses

Brandie

Picture
Brandie is a Percheron/Thoroughbred Cross who stands 15.3hh. She was leased by High Hurdles for 2012/2013 to be used in lessons and shows. Brandie was ridden by both beginner and advanced riders, and showed at a local fairs while she was with us.

As of September 1st Brandie was returned to her owners as our lease had ended. She has settled in well.
